These watercolor based graphics by Karen Kurycki made me smile instantly. I love the way she uses loosely dropped watercolor to give it some organic texture, but the careful layouts of the paint keep the designs graphic in nature. Of course the wit helps with the smile factor. There’s a definite DADA influence on some of these, and a lot of nostalgia (horray for viewmasters and cassette tapes!). Overall, it’s just straight out enjoyable to look at, and I’d love prints of many of these. You can tell she had fun making these.
