I saw this photo of a roll of tickets for a “Retarded Children Benefit Show” and I had to post it. Apparently is was taken through the window of an abandoned movie theater. It almost looks like a photoshop, but I forget that “retarded” used to be politically correct back in the day.
This vintage mime alphabet book looks awesome, I wish the whole thing was scanned in. It comes from an pretty sweet flickr set of vintage children’s books.
I came across this huge Flickr set of matchbook labels from the 50′s and 60′s. There are hundreds of images in the set of mostly Eastern European labels. They are like tiny little vintage posters, and there are tons of nice ones to look at.
Here’s a great Flickr set of 121 pages of logos from the 1970′s scanned from the book “World of Logotypes”. Solid black on plain white, that’s the way to do it. None of those fancy gradients and reflection cop-outs that you see everywhere these days. Just pure balance, harmony, and simplicity. via Metafilter
