Dolce Press printed this letterpress business card that looks to be inspired by old wood type posters. It was designed by the client, Suodsey Penn, who has a pretty nice gallery of her work online. I especially like this poster by her:

Design and press studio enormouschampion has this great letterpressed cassette tape design on one of their cards. It has a handy space at the top of the tape to write your message, as if you were writing in the songs on the mix tape. The above photo is by Kristina Contes and shows a little [...]

This hand lettering on a door for a “Microanalysis Research and Consulting Chemist” made me laugh. It’s such a whimsical style and the pink paint adds to the fun. It’s the exact opposite of what I would expect to see for such a company. Seen in dj denim’s photostream, which contains a plethora of this [...]

I found this great photo on Flickr of a vintage “Whittemore’s Cleanall” package. I just love the typography and the little flourishes. The colors are breathtakingly beautiful as well.
Netherland Art has created some pretty groovy art pieces using collage materials, acrylics, and resin on a wood surface. I love when art is done on a nice slab of grainy wood, and he really knows how to work that 70′s rainbow.
Designer/Photographer Douglas Wilson has just uploaded a large Flickr set featuring Polaroid photos of found typography. It consists of mostly hand drawn type on signs, some printed type, and a nature photos thrown in occasionally to provide some nice interludes. They are scanned in sets of four, which makes for some interesting compositions. I was [...]
The odd combination of the sign and the expression on the man’s face in this photo make for a true portrait photograph. It’s one of those expressions that you can’t quite read, yet it says so much. And the hand-made sign advertising what seems like a personal business with some sort of novelty boat just [...]
Links to above photos: bird, trees, horse, pillows. VioletJulia is an artist that takes amazing Polaroid photos. The compositions are minimal and go well with the muted colors of Polaroid film. I find myself more and more attracted to this Lo-fi style of photography. There’s something about it that creates a serene and dream-like atmosphere [...]
I saw this vintage children’s book at a thrift store called, I Want to be a Coal Miner. I thought that was a strange aspiration for a child and I had to thumb through it. It turns out that although the story is boring and borderline propagandistic, the illustration style was amazing. I ended up [...]
This music video remix of Radiohead’s “Nude” song is incredible. Someone took an old printer, scanner, spectrum machine, and some hard drives and used them to make the sounds for the song. It results in a very minimal lo-fi sound that sounds bad at first but comes together to create breathtaking beauty. The video is [...]
