Back to the Futura - Cinematypography

The fantastic design blog September Industry has created, with the help of other contributers, a list of movie titles that have font names worked into them. Maybe it’s because I’m a super nerd, but it’s the funniest thing I have seen on the internet in a long time. Some of my favorites are […]

Letterpress guinea pig on scooter by Moontree

Moontree Letterpress has a great blog about the designs that they make. I love this card design of a guinea pig on a scooter. It’s fun to see silly designs printed in such an elegant way. It’s for sale on Etsy. Be sure to check out their more “serious” work on […]

Retarded Children Benefit Show

I saw this photo of a roll of tickets for a “Retarded Children Benefit Show” and I had to post it. Apparently is was taken through the window of an abandoned movie theater. It almost looks like a photoshop, but I forget that “retarded” used to be politically correct back in the day.

Mime alphabet book, and other vintage children’s books

This vintage mime alphabet book looks awesome, I wish the whole thing was scanned in. It comes from an pretty sweet flickr set of vintage children’s books.

Emma Smart - Scrabble toss pillows

Emma Smart has a nice portfolio of crafts and design that she does. I thought the scrabble tile toss pillows were pretty neat.

Rather Difficult Font Game

I had fun playing this font identification game. I got 27 out of 34, and I only got a couple of those points off of guesses. I’m pretty proud of that score, considering I’ve only been a type nut for a few months.

These glasses are really excited to be holding your liquids

Ryoko Yagi makes glass products that are pretty basic, but with one simple addition. A smiley face is etched onto each one. How could you ever be grumpy drinking out of one of those? She sells them on her Etsy shop, Smile Tumbler.

Nerdy felt brooches

I saw this flickr set of nerdy felt brooches and it made me smile. It’s actually kind of sad how many I recognized.

Bjork - Wanderlust music video

Although I’m not a huge Bjork fan, I really liked her new music video for “Wanderlust”. It’s a really strange (surprise, surprise) 3-d animation style. It creates a very surreal atmosphere. The video is pretty big, but it’s really good quality.
I couldn’t help making a silly little animated gif of one of […]

Marc Johns makes simple, but interesting drawings at a really small scale (sometimes on Post-it notes).
