Typographic book to benefit Myanmar cyclone victims

The people of Create/Reject have put together a design book that features the favorite typefaces from 50 of today’s top designers, and 100% percent of the profits goes toward UNICEF’s Myanmar Cyclone Children’s Appeal.
I bought one as soon as I heard about it. It looks like a fun book for type nerds and people […]

Polaroid shaped hand held mirror

“Click”, by Colin O’Dowd, is a mirror shaped like a Polaroid picture. I think it’s a pretty nifty product for people that are into photography. It would be a fun mirror for those that use compact mirrors, but I would also like it just so that I could photograph it reflecting different scenes. […]

Typographic posters to benefit Chinese earthquake victims

Herman Lee, aka Freshfauxx, has made some really nice inspirational typographic posters. The cool thing is that the proceeds from selling them go to the Canadian Red Cross to help aid the victims of the earthquake in China. If I wasn’t on such a tight budget, I would totally buy the white one, […]

Bamboo toy design workshop

15 students from Shankar college in Israel traveled to China to participate in a workshop for designing bamboo toys. The toys are really cute, and of course, bamboo is super sustainable. I love the way the simple bright colors look with the light brown color of the bamboo.

Sleeping Forest Studios - Beautiful wood designs (marquetry)

I saw this amazing wood business card holder on Etsy and I fell in love with it. I am a sucker for nicely presented woodgrain. I had just expected it to be painted on with wood stain, but the design turned out to be made from inlaid pieces of wood.

I looked at their […]

These glasses are really excited to be holding your liquids

Ryoko Yagi makes glass products that are pretty basic, but with one simple addition. A smiley face is etched onto each one. How could you ever be grumpy drinking out of one of those? She sells them on her Etsy shop, Smile Tumbler.

Sustainability “nutrition” labels for houses

I love the creative solution for publishing the sustainability facts for this house design. The nutrition label layout makes the figures much more “digestible” (sorry, that pun wasn’t planned, I swear). It might get more people to think that they should treat house shopping in a similar way to food shopping. When […]

Amazing vintage Kix cereal box design

General Mills has put out some vintage versions of some of their cereal boxes at Target. When I saw the Kix version, I was awestruck. It is so clean and and confident compared to the horrible “hey look at me! I have shading, and exclamation points, and a close up image of fake […]

Grids are good for the soul

Antonio Carusone’s AisleOne is quickly becoming one of my favorite places for design inspiration. He just posted a beautiful poster for sale. Blue, Helvetiva, Brockmann quote…I don’t think it can get much better than that. I’m pretty sure it will look awesome in my room too, hopefully I can get one before […]
