Michael Hochleitner designed this beautiful typeface family called Ingeborg (link goes to PDF specimen booklet) as part of his program for a Master of Arts in Typeface Design at the University of Reading. I especially love the swashes in the fat italic font. I can’t seem to see any place to purchase it yet, but [...]
Digital artist and graphic designer “greysheepduo” is putting out some interesting and quality design work. The incredible part is that it appears that he’s still in high school! I can’t wait to see what he comes up with in the future. Check out his design collection on Flickr.
Pedro Lucena creates some beautiful line drawings full of intricate detail and patterns. Be sure to click on the tree image above to see a larger version for the full detail, it’s worth it. Check out his sets on Flickr for more work.
Netherland Art has created some pretty groovy art pieces using collage materials, acrylics, and resin on a wood surface. I love when art is done on a nice slab of grainy wood, and he really knows how to work that 70′s rainbow.
Network Osaka has put out some really nice posters based on the swiss modernist aesthetic of grids, Helvetica, and minimalism. Of course, his personal site is under construction, but here’s the link for future reference.
Graphic designer Lander Janssens, of Grapplica (warning: his site resizes your window), has shared a wonderful collection of abstract typographic designs made with Letraset. I am amazed at how balanced and uncontrived these designs look, which is a lot harder to achieve in this type of work than you might think. I also love the [...]
Links to above photos: bird, trees, horse, pillows. VioletJulia is an artist that takes amazing Polaroid photos. The compositions are minimal and go well with the muted colors of Polaroid film. I find myself more and more attracted to this Lo-fi style of photography. There’s something about it that creates a serene and dream-like atmosphere [...]
Peter Lim’s graphic design portfolio is pretty small, but impressive. It’s one of those confusing flash based websites, so you’ll have to click on “Graphic Design”, and choose from the list of projects, then hover over the image and click on that arrow thing that appears to scroll through more photos of the project. I [...]
The people of Create/Reject have put together a design book that features the favorite typefaces from 50 of today’s top designers, and 100% percent of the profits goes toward UNICEF’s Myanmar Cyclone Children’s Appeal. I bought one as soon as I heard about it. It looks like a fun book for type nerds and people [...]
I love these designs made by Flickr user “Anita J+”. She used books to form the shapes of trees and flowers for these environmental awareness posters. The rest of her stuff is top notch as well, although I can’t find an official website besides her Flickr account.
