I like where this series of simplified insects and bugs based on the golden ratio is going. It’s being made by Graphic Nothing, who describes his own work as “Retro Futuristic Folk Graphics – until that is, I can think of an even more absurd pretentious description.”

The colors! The pinwheel! The weathered type! What’s not to love about this photo of a drive thru sign for a Charlie’s Mongolian Barbeque taken by designer and photographer Jesse Southerland.
Here are handful of things I liked last week, please click on the images to go to their source.
Lots of handmade typography in this nice music video for a Death Cab for Cutie song, Little Bribes.
Great color and texture in this illustration.
Kyle Poff does some nice identity designs.
Love these artistic handmade rugs by Reuber-Henning.

I enjoyed clicking through this nice collection of vintage business cards shared by designer Becca Eley (who also happens to have some nice work in her portfolio that is worth checking out). I especially loved the type in the upper image that I posted, which turns out to be a typeface called Treasury.

Francis Qureshi is a photography and graphic design student. I love the mood created by the color in his photos, especially the signs series. So far he only has one example of his design work, but it’s incredible. If this is the early work of a student, I can’t wait to see [...]

I’m not sure exactly what Official Classic is, but I do know that it is a bundle of awesome design work. I love the classic feel of the work, it just makes me a happier person when I see it. I enjoyed all the work there, but I thought the font designs were [...]

Frank Juery has some amazing photography; especially in his Polaroid collections (middle row: 1, 2 and 4). I love when photos make me feel like I’m in a childhood dream.

I’m really loving the vintage graphic style that Jordan Gray has going on. He uses type and colors really nicely in my opinion, and it was hard to pick one image to post (so you get three). I can’t believe that a lot of my favorites are versions that didn’t get used by [...]

Qamar Ramzan is a London based graphic designer that also is a pretty good portrait photographer. I especially love the custom drawn Arabic type on the above poster.

Cristiana Couciero has a unique style of graphic art that she posts to her blog. She creates digital collages, but the graphics she appropriates are taken from mid-century modern designs and her compositions feel minimal and structured yet layered and abstract. It’s a very distinctive style and I love seeing things in them [...]
