Quality design work by the young greysheepduo

Digital artist and graphic designer “greysheepduo” is putting out some interesting and quality design work. The incredible part is that it appears that he’s still in high school! I can’t wait to see what he comes up with in the future. Check out his design collection on Flickr.

Typography inspired Pinewood Derby car

The Columbus Society of Communicating Arts recently held a fun looking Pinewood Derby contest. I especially love the “Typemobile” pictured above. As a former 3 time champion in my Cub Scout years, it combines the fun I had making Pinewood Derby cars as a youth, with my current design obsession as an adult. [...]

If an ad agency today had to design the stop sign

This is pretty funny, but mostly sad because of how true it is.

Swiss modernist influenced poster design by Network Osaka

Network Osaka has put out some really nice posters based on the swiss modernist aesthetic of grids, Helvetica, and minimalism. Of course, his personal site is under construction, but here’s the link for future reference.

Abstract Letraset typographic design experiments

Graphic designer Lander Janssens, of Grapplica (warning: his site resizes your window), has shared a wonderful collection of abstract typographic designs made with Letraset. I am amazed at how balanced and uncontrived these designs look, which is a lot harder to achieve in this type of work than you might think. I also [...]

This letterpressed business card features a subtly beautiful gray landscape. It was designed by and for Yolande Batteau of Callidus Guild and printed by the always amazing Moontree Letterpress.

Beautiful Polaroid typography photography set

Designer/Photographer Douglas Wilson has just uploaded a large Flickr set featuring Polaroid photos of found typography. It consists of mostly hand drawn type on signs, some printed type, and a nature photos thrown in occasionally to provide some nice interludes. They are scanned in sets of four, which makes for some interesting compositions.

Peter Lim designs

Peter Lim’s graphic design portfolio is pretty small, but impressive. It’s one of those confusing flash based websites, so you’ll have to click on “Graphic Design”, and choose from the list of projects, then hover over the image and click on that arrow thing that appears to scroll through more photos of the project. [...]

Typographic book to benefit Myanmar cyclone victims

The people of Create/Reject have put together a design book that features the favorite typefaces from 50 of today’s top designers, and 100% percent of the profits goes toward UNICEF’s Myanmar Cyclone Children’s Appeal.
I bought one as soon as I heard about it. It looks like a fun book for type nerds and people [...]

Creative designs by Anita J

I love these designs made by Flickr user “Anita J+”. She used books to form the shapes of trees and flowers for these environmental awareness posters. The rest of her stuff is top notch as well, although I can’t find an official website besides her Flickr account.
