Chocolate Landscape – Wallpaper calendar design for May

Richard Roche -

My design was featured in Smashing Magazine’s desktop wallpaper calendar collection for May 2008. The download links for a variety of sizes are in the post on their website. There’s even versions without the calendar on it. It’s a cool idea, the only thing that bugs me is the watermark requirement. Some of the designs are ruined by it. I tried to blend it nicely into mine, but I will still offer versions without the watermark here on my site. Check this post for an update on or slightly after May 1st if you are interested.

Update : Here they are

With Calendar: 1920×1200 | 1680×1050 | 1600×1200 | 1280×960
No Calendar: 1920×1200 | 1680×1050 | 1600×1200 | 1280×960

What font is May? Or is it your own?

It’s Miss Le Gatees, there’s a ton of amazing script fonts on that foundry.

    Hi there,
I LOVE this modern tree design, and wanted to see if I could get permission to use it on a business card and website. It’s not part of a logo or anything that would be trademarked, but it’s a nice design and wanted to ask you first before I used it.
    Thanks-Rebecca

Rebecca, normally I’d be happy to let you use it, but I’ve actually already given the rights to a company to use the tree as their logo. I wouldn’t want to say yes but then have you possibly get into trouble down the line, sorry!

I love the colors..I especially love how you’ve incorporated the color chocolate brown to other colors. I’d love to have one of these in one of my office..it would blend perfectly with my furniture.

Where can I find the font for May? Tried some font detection sites but no luck.
