The Deming Sisters - Good Life I Love You

I’ve fallen for this little tune by The Deming Sisters. It’s purely simple throwback to old-time jazzy folk music. The vocals are beautiful, and I implore you to at least listen until to the kazoo kicks in.

Hello Seahorse - Won’t Say Anything

The song Won’t Say Anything by Hello Seahorse is a bubbly, handclappy work of beauty and has quickly become my favorite song of the moment. The video is pretty fun and makes you wish you were a part of the band. I found this live version of Won’t Say Anything that is stripped [...]

Thee More Shallows - Live, acoustic, and even more lo-fi than usual

I am currently swooning over the above video of Thee More Shallows playing their song Ask me about Jon Stross live and acoustic on a couch. I’ve been a big fan ever since I saw them open for Why? a few years ago. They have a very low key, new-folk style, but the [...]

Glen Hansard’s “Say it to me now” from “Once” soundtrack

I just saw the movie “Once“, which was very good, but it was the soundtrack the really blew me away. I especially love Glen Hansard’s “Say it to me now” and the live performance I posted above is amazing. The sound quality in the recording isn’t the greatest but I think it adds [...]

Foil boxes have a roll holder…my mind is blown

lauren {elycerose} on Flickr just pointed out that aluminum foil boxes have push in tabs for holding the roll in place. This is the most amazing thing I have learned all week and I can’t believe I never noticed it before. My life is now slightly easier.

Swing jumping photos

If you can think of it, there is probably a Flickr group about it. I loved looking at this Flickr set of people jumping off swings. Jumping off of a swing is one of the most exhilarating feelings in the world. It was my favorite thing to do in a park. [...]

Retarded Children Benefit Show

I saw this photo of a roll of tickets for a “Retarded Children Benefit Show” and I had to post it. Apparently is was taken through the window of an abandoned movie theater. It almost looks like a photoshop, but I forget that “retarded” used to be politically correct back in the day.
