Flickr user s.alt has a beautiful set of plant silhouette photography. I love how the contrast is so high that they almost look like vector art work. These photos would make great inspiration for graphic designs and patterns.

I found the phrase Fragile manipulate with care printed on a box at work and I thought the wording was strange in a good way. Usually they say “handle with care”, but this way is a lot more poetic and up for interpretation. I thought it would make a somewhat provocative piece of [...]

I just thought this was a very funny and appropriate way to test out your new letterpress machine. Those true nerds out there (which I’m guessing is a good proportion of my visitors) will understand, others can learn the significance here. I love the meshing of old world and new world.

Illustrator Sarah Watts posted her latest illustration, entitled Memory, on her blog and it’s probably my favorite so far. That tire swing and spooky looking house are perfect and I love the lines in the hair.

Recent graduate Valerie Jar has a great portfolio taking shape. I love the colors used in her illustrations and handmade items, and her graphic design is very clean and professional. You can buy those owl pillows and more of her work at her Etsy shop.

Sam Peet has a great collage illustration style going with this book entitled I had the strangest dream. The layering and texture make for a very surreal little environment. It’s sad that his portfolio is so small right now, hopefully he’ll add more soon.

I loved this photo of wispy toy sheep surround by luscious bokeh and I had to share it here. It’s in square format, but the original resolution is high enough that you can easily crop it to wallpaper size if you know how. See more by the photographer, MummaLu.

I loved the highly detailed illustration in this gig poster for a Dosh show. It features whimsical looking type design and great colors. The artwork was done by Ian Ferguson of hydEONart.com. As a side note, Dosh’s music is great if you like eclectic atmospheric percussive songs.

I loved the simple yet unique design for a vector illustrator and designer’s portfolio website called “Aint Life Grand”. All you have to do click on the current image to get to the next one. You see one image at a time and it seems to suit the bare bones, yet witty and eye-catching [...]
