The music video for Her Morning Elegance by Oren Lavie is so whimsically beautiful, and I really love the song too (mmm….plinky piano synth sounds). It’s definitely worth clicking the “watch in high quality” link on the youtube page. Via Black*Eiffel

Gentle Pure Space is now a whole year old! The above image is just a typographic photography experiment I’ve done recently. I don’t know if my blog is important enough to get all nostalgic on the readers yet, but some of my personal highlights were: 1) Getting mentioned on some of my most inspirational blogs, [...]

I’m really loving the vintage graphic style that Jordan Gray has going on. He uses type and colors really nicely in my opinion, and it was hard to pick one image to post (so you get three). I can’t believe that a lot of my favorites are versions that didn’t get used by the client, [...]

Kevin Cherry is an art teacher that creates fantastic mixed media collages with typographic subjects in his free time. For the most part, the collages consist of paper, photo transfer, and screen printing onto painted wood. Sounds like a lot of work, but the texture it creates is very nice.

I love this little gallery of vintage looking hand made flea circuses. It makes me want one just to have as decoration in my house. The photos have that nice vintage coloring to them as well, I just wish they were bigger. Via Clusterflock

I remember seeing this beard illustration that was inspired by Milton Glaser’s Bob Dylan illustration. Well, now it is available as a poster from Beard Revue. If I didn’t currently have a surplus of art waiting around to be hung on my already crowded walls, this would be a must buy for me. Via Anyways.us

Barack Obama’s official presidential portrait has just been released. Seeing him in this familiar pose just gave me chills. When I was a child looking at the rows and rows of white male portrait shots in the appendices of my textbooks, it didn’t seem like I’d would see something like this so soon in my [...]

Today’s Featured Flickr Photographer is Coquinete. I love how a lot of her photos capture the imperfect beauty of the parts of nature that most people just walk on by. She also has an interesting music/photo blog called Microphones in the Trees that is worth checking out if you like obscure indie music and lo-fi [...]

I am loving this print for sale at L’Affiche Moderne entitled, El arca y el diluvio by Argintinian illustrator Gustavo Amir. His pieces are innocent and childlike, but reflect a complex maturity in the emotions they evoke. Check out his Flickr gallery for lots more of his great work. Via Pica + Pixel

Qamar Ramzan is a London based graphic designer that also is a pretty good portrait photographer. I especially love the custom drawn Arabic type on the above poster.
