Golden Porsche Sessions

I’m not exactly sure what the Golden Porsche Sessions designs are all about, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy looking at them. I love the way lomo photography is combined with modernist inspired typography to create fantastic vintage designs.

Featured Flickr Photographer – Lisa Scheer

Today’s Featured Flickr Photographer is Lisa Scheer. She is a master of composing in square format. I love how she takes such mundane scenes and somehow subtly manages to draw out the life and personality of the objects. Her hasselblad set is where the magic happens. Check out her photo blog to see much larger [...]

Snow Angel letterpress card

I thought this letterpress snow angel greeting card design made by Brooklyn Bookbinder, was pretty clever. I love how the snow angel part is imprinted into the card with no ink, it really looks like impressions in snow. You can purchase it right now in Brooklyn Bookbinder’s Etsy shop.

Breathtaking animation music video – Levi Weaver “You Are Home”

I have fallen in love with a new music video. Paper Beats Rock came up with an innovative animation style for the music video for the song “You Are Home” by Levi Weaver. The cutouts of plain line drawings glued to sticks that gently move about the scene are perfect for the melancholic and sentimental [...]

Illustrations of Yahoo Headlines by Lehel Kovacs

Illustrator Lehel Kovacs occasionally makes some really nice typographic illustrations based on Yahoo headlines of the day. You can purchase some prints of those, along with other fantastic illustrations at his shop. If you want to follow his progress, he also maintains a blog.

Technical Difficulties

Apologies to anyone trying to use my site the past couple days. Out of nowhere my entire blog decided to disappear yesterday, but randomly came back like 15 hours later. I also just realized none of my permalinks were working either but I’ve fixed that as well (turns out I just had to re-save my [...]

The Deming Sisters – Good Life I Love You

I’ve fallen for this little tune by The Deming Sisters. It’s purely simple throwback to old-time jazzy folk music. The vocals are beautiful, and I implore you to at least listen until to the kazoo kicks in.

Polaroid photography of found retro stripes by Grant Hamilton

Photographer Grant Hamilton takes a variety of nice photos, but the ones that really caught my eye were the Polaroid shots of found retro stripes. You can buy large prints of some of these at his etsy shop. They would also make great color scheme inspiration for any retro inspired design.
