I really like these business cards for Toby Evans. Not only is it a very nice minimal typographic design, but I like the fact that he designed, screen printed, and cut them out himself. It gives it a very personal yet still professional feel. I might do something like this for myself when I get [...]
I thought these paintings on shaved pencils by Ghostpatrol were pretty clever. It’s a great idea and the paintings themselves are like little ambiguous windows into a mystical world. Via Kitsune Noir
Paulete Matos is working on a great photo set project called “Rhythms”. The photos all consist of a single person with an umbrella walking on a gray textured road. It’s a simple idea, but well executed.
Moontree Letterpress has a great blog about the designs that they make. I love this card design of a guinea pig on a scooter. It’s fun to see silly designs printed in such an elegant way. It’s for sale on Etsy. Be sure to check out their more “serious” work on their blog as well; [...]
Adrian Frutiger, my favorite typeface designer, is turning 80 today. You can read about him and leave a message to him on Linotype if you wish. I made the image above and sent him this message: “I might name one of my children after you. I wanted to name one after a designer that I [...]
Oomingmak Design Company makes some fantastic gig poster designs. I love the vintage color palette and the type work is spot on.
Herman Lee, aka Freshfauxx, has made some really nice inspirational typographic posters. The cool thing is that the proceeds from selling them go to the Canadian Red Cross to help aid the victims of the earthquake in China. If I wasn’t on such a tight budget, I would totally buy the white one, but the [...]
I have a thing for benches, and I really love these spaghetti benches made by Pablo Reinoso. They are like something out of a surreal painting. Beautiful.
I’ve come a cross a lot more nice photography of typography since the last time, here’s five more of my favorites. The photos link to their respective Flickr pages. Previously: 5 nice photos of found typography vol.1 {above photo by David John Earls, of typographer.org}
lauren {elycerose} on Flickr just pointed out that aluminum foil boxes have push in tabs for holding the roll in place. This is the most amazing thing I have learned all week and I can’t believe I never noticed it before. My life is now slightly easier.
