Dan-ah Kim - Surreal multimedia illustrations

Dan-ah Kim does wonderful illustrations. I love the stark landscapes and the personality infused into the tree shapes. She sells them on her Etsy shop.

Rather Difficult Font Game

I had fun playing this font identification game. I got 27 out of 34, and I only got a couple of those points off of guesses. I’m pretty proud of that score, considering I’ve only been a type nut for a few months.

Sean Freeman - Type and water

Sean Freeman has a portfolio with some experiments involving water and type that I find really captivating. Make sure to click on the images on his website for more detail.
The work reminds me of the Dropclock screensaver that is all the rage these days, which features Helvetica numbers falling into water at slow motion.

Fontan2 - Interesting geometric typeface designs

Fontan2 is a nice design portfolio that features a lot of really abstract and geometric typeface designs. I love the style of typeface design that really pushes the limits of abstraction and makes you work for it to be able to read it.

These glasses are really excited to be holding your liquids

Ryoko Yagi makes glass products that are pretty basic, but with one simple addition. A smiley face is etched onto each one. How could you ever be grumpy drinking out of one of those? She sells them on her Etsy shop, Smile Tumbler.

It might get more people to think that they should treat house shopping in a similar way to food shopping. When [...]

Hello Maybe - Colorful designs and illustrations

Hello Maybe is an online portfolio of a nice variety of design and illustration work that has bright color and interesting shapes. There is also some good quality photography, t-shirts, and street art to look at.

Nerdy felt brooches

I saw this flickr set of nerdy felt brooches and it made me smile. It’s actually kind of sad how many I recognized.

Flickr favorite - Delicate texture on an angel statue

I’ve been entranced by good photos of statues recently. This photo of an angel statue is especially nice. The depth of field is incredible, and you can almost feel the grains of texture that cling to the stone.

A beautiful acoustic Radiohead remix

So Radiohead is being awesome again and letting people remix their song “Nude”. I was figuratively knocked off my feet when I heard this hauntingly beautiful acoustic remix by Adrian Holovaty.

Thanks to Chris Glass for the heads up.
